The SiFive High Five Premier is one of the most anticipated SBC boards of the year. if you’re a RISC-V fan, then this is perhaps one of the most sought after SBCs because it’s one of the highest performance RISC-V systems you can get. But, despite promising availability in July 2024, the board still shows signs of being unavilable.
SiFive committed to making the board available via Arrow Electronics on July 2024. With a little over a week left, there’s some signs of the board finally arriving. Officially the board has the part number HF106. And yes, Arrow does have a page showing it here Arrow SiFive HF106.
There are supposedly 512 available boards for the HF106-000 at $599 which was one of the expected price points, while the HF106-001 has no stock. We don’t know exactly what the difference is between the two, since there are no details, but the $699 price points to it being the 32GB version.
The datasheet link on the HF106 page takes us to a generic placeholder which doesn’t have much more information than we already know. It’s just a one page generic description of the device.
We called Arrow to confirm whether we could order the HF106-000. Although initially it seemed we could, Arrow then confirmed this item was out of stock. Supposedly the site was undergoing maintenance.
So, unfortunately the HiFive Premier P550 is not yet available and our gut feeling is that the board may be delayed a bit for whatever reason. Unless they’re about to turn on the switch and start shipping them, it’s likely it will be at least August before it ships.
Update 7/26/2024: We’ve reached out to SiFive and heard that the P550 is coming out soon but was delayed to August, confirming our suspicions.
